Positive: This was my second stay at LUX and once again it was a truly special experience. We stayed in August, with wonderful weather, in a beautiful water villa overlooking the crystal-clear sea. The resort is enchanting: the island is large and well equipped, offering many facilities such as a gym, diving center, six restaurants and several bars. The international breakfast was excellent and served in two different restaurants. During our stay we dined almost every evening at Umami, the Japanese restaurant: outstanding food thanks to Chef Jester and impeccable service by Reehaan. I highly recommend trying it.

Negative: The only aspect that could be improved is the welcome service upon arrival on the island. Apart from that, everything was perfect.

Positive: Such a beautiful place it is literally paradise. We went on our honeymoon and it couldn’t have been better. From the service to the food to the drinks all of it was amazing I definitely recommend all inclusive because the cost can really add up if you’re spending out-of-pocket so I’m really happy we went with all inclusive option . Also the romantic pool villas are not as nice as the other overwater villas even though they’re more expensive. The standard overwater villas are in a nicer part of the island and the rooms are much nicer we had the privilege to stay at both but preferred the overwater villas without a pool. Besides, you don’t really need a pool when you’re on the Indian Ocean .

Positive: There are just not enough words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at Lux. It was simply beyond perfect. The staff were amazing from start to finish. Special thank you to Neesham the Duty Manager who went above and beyond for us after we went through flight disruption from Dubai, resulting in a missed connection. Also to Mo, one of the kind gentleman who drove us around on the hotel buggy. My daughter looked forward to every trip around the resort with him. The resort was absolutely stunning and picture perfect. We travelled in August and I was concerned it may rain every day but the weather was beautiful. We also experienced the most special dolphin trip and the food was beautiful. We will 100% return. THANK YOU LUX!

Positive: The resort was beyond expectations. We were met by staff as soon as we landed in Male airport and we were looked after for the entire duration of the stay. The villa was stunning, as was the rest of the resort. The bars and restaurants were lovely and the beaches around the island were unbelievable. The gym was well equipped with cardio and strength equipment and there were plenty of classes too. This was our first visit to the Maldives and won't be our last, we would definitely come back to Lux.

Negative: A very minor comment - it would have been nice to have had the menu in the restaurants rotate a bit. The meal options were a little repetitive, although the food was delicious.

Positive: Some of the staff were really warm and hospitable. Worth mentioning were Ahmad from housekeeping, Rachel from reception, Nur from Cafe Lux and Niyaz from F&B. The treasure hunt for bottles was really fun. The buffet spread was good except they could have change some of the items. Activities like cinema night was great. Resort has many instagram hot spots for great photos.

Negative: Arrangements for daily activities and flight could be made easier and in advance. The staff got the bill terribly wrong the first time, added on 4 items that shouldn’t be there. Check out time and departure flight should be better aligned to avoid guests waiting in the hotel lobby for 4 hours. Free rental of water sports equipment can be extended to 6pm due to hot weather in the afternoon. Room was a little tired looking. No fault of the resort but do not book from booking.com. They offered single pax package which you then need to top up, do be aware.And the resort charges higher rates for the seaplane ticket.

Summary: A resort for those who prefers a little more rustic feel.
